Seo Min Jung apologizes for using BTS to promote her friend's hats

BTS guested on American radio and Seo Min Jung joined as the translator. She gave BTS hats and said she made for them. She asked the members to wear it and they took pictures. It turned out that the hats are being sold by Seo Min Jung's friend. The friend started promoting on social media mentioning BTS. As a result, the hats started selling explosively. When BTS fans found out, they criticized her for the free promo. She then deleted all of her social media posts.

Pann: Seo Min Jung uses BTS

1. [+129, -1] I viewed Seo Min Jung as a good person because she seemed nice but she looks different now. Honestly, this is a sly thing to do. Of course, you see one's true self as time passes...

2. [+125, -2] I watched the radio broadcast and what bothered me the most was they didn't even have enough time to promote BTS' new album but Seo Min Jung gave them hats, took time to unwrap them, and made them wear it. Also the DJ talked about Seo Min Jung being a superstar in Korea and kept asking Namjoon if it was true and if BTS was also a fan of her. If she prepared the hats with a good intention, she could've gave them after the interview. And as far as I know, Seo Min Jung retired 10 years ago after her sitcom ended. I know the sitcom was popular but isn't it embarrassing to be called a superstar and be approved by BTS? Even if the guest wasn't BTS, it would've been a rude thing to be done. A lot of K-pop stars are advancing globally nowadays. Imagine having EXO, Twice, Blackpink, Monster X, or other idols and the interviewer wasting time by asking the group, "You're a fan of Seo Min Jung, right? She's a superstar, right?" The most important thing is that she got a lot of appreciating articles for being the translator but her translations were totally wrong.

3. [+87, -2] She's working hard to serve her white American friend.

4. [+68, -0] Why is Seo Min Jung translating when they have RM and their own translator?

5. [+46, -0] She rode on their popularity too obviously. So unlikeable.

6. [+45, -0] Why did they cast her when she couldn't even translate properly? V said he wanted to hold an exhibition with the pictures he took but she translated and said he was planning to open an Instagram account. Jin said after becoming popular, he couldn't walk like a famous figure but she translated it as not being able to walk freely. I ignored it because she's not a professional translator but using BTS to help her friend's earnings is pissing me off.

1. [+646, -127] Bear-like fox.

2. [+468, -99] All sorts of flies are clinging on to BTS now that they're popular...

3. [+452, -107] Bear-like fox.

4. [+94, -7] She didn't major in translation nor has any experience in translating. All she did is living in New York for several years. How did she even translate with her lacking English skills?

5. [+94, -5] I saw the screenshots. If she had no intention to promote, why did her friend post that BTS wore her products and tagged them? There's a screenshot of the friend saying thank you. Seo Min Jung also did a photoshoot for the friend before. Everything aside, I was more surprised at her translations that were completely wrong.

6. [+82, -11] People like her are really scary ㅠㅠ

1. [+127, -57] It seems like Seo Min Jung got the damage because of the people around her... Is this really a controversy?

2. [+72, -29] I would think it's a misunderstanding if it's a first but this is her second time doing it. When Son Tae Young lied for the second time, she was marked as a liar. You will get caught no matter what unless you change.

3. [+83, -41] The problem is that she said she made the hats for them! I laughed when the radio MC said she was a very popular entertainer in Korea. I wondered what kind of sponsor she had to be there. It's funny enough that she was the translator. Why do they even need a translator? And it's Seo Min Jung? The innocent members wore the hats and took pictures ㅠㅠ Don't use BTS!!

4. [+106, -65] I've wondered if Seo Min Jung was a good person or iffy but seeing this, she's a fox for sure. She begged the PD of High Kick for her role. She became popular from the sitcom and High Kick was going to be made into a movie, but she got married and went off to the US. She said she can't sing but she sings well. The hats are made by her white friend, so why did she say she made the hats? She should live with honesty or else it'll come back at her.

5. [+69, -28] The reason why the Korean-American community reacted strongly to this wasn't because of using BTS. It was because they were upset that she was serving a white person. They were even comparing her to Japanese collaborators who sell the country.

6. [+42, -10] Seo Min Jung-ssi, it was problematic because you said you made the hats. And your friend used the picture of BTS wearing the hats to promote her products. A wrongdoing is a wrongdoing. Why did she appear there when she can't even translate?
